October Fasting & Prayer Guide
This October, we are dedicating ourselves as a church family to prayer and fasting.
We can’t control the events happening in the world, but we can control how we
respond. Let’s commit together to seek God daily and be shaped by His presence.
-
• Morning: Ask God to help you desire Him most. Name one thing you admire about
Him—His wisdom, love, power, or faithfulness.
• Noon: Pray for an opportunity to share Christ with someone.
• Evening: Reflect on your day. Thank Him for how He provided. End by kneeling in
prayer.
-
• October 4th, 9:30 am (last room on the left): One-hour prayer time led by Pastor
Darryl. Childcare available.
• October 11th & 18th: 24 Hours of Prayer. Sign up for a one-hour slot at
arborbridgechurch.com/prayer or at the welcome desk. First slot begins at 9:30 am
Saturday, last slot flows into Sunday worship.
• October 25th, 9:30 am: Two-hour prayer time led by David Hildreth.
-
Each week in October, fast for 24 hours from Tuesday evening to Wednesday
evening (for example, 6 pm Tuesday → 6 pm Wednesday). Drink water (or juice if
needed) but skip meals to focus on prayer. If food fasting isn’t possible for health
reasons, consider fasting from social media, news, or entertainment.
By committing to prayer and fasting, we open ourselves to be renewed by the Holy
Spirit. Let’s withdraw with Jesus, be renewed in His presence, and return to the world
with compassion and courage.
