Keith Gafner: Missionary to Africa

Keith Gafner and his family work in Kenya. You probably remember hearing about those bloody tribal clashes in Kenya in the 90’s. Keith knew something had to be done about those clashes so he began working with the youth and taught them about agriculture. Some land was donated and they got busy planting vegetables. With their profits, the young people bought more land to produce even more crops. The local farmers even came to learn from Keith and the young people. Peace and reconciliation was the greatest result of this project. Keith introduced new crops such as peppers and bamboo. The bamboo is used for much needed fire wood and to build furniture which provided many needed jobs. The physical work expanded into producing bee hives and making ovens to bake bread. The spiritual work brought people together and helped them deal with their differences and they learned how to be at peace not just with each other but with God because of Jesus. Keith and his family have changed the world and made it a better place.
