Great ESL Classes Available!
We are excited to offer affordable English classes for internationals of all ages. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays and each class lasts 90 minutes. The 10:00am class offers child care for a small additional fee. If you visit, you'll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a classroom where you can feel comfortable and encouraged. These classes emphasize conversations so you will be able to use what you learn right away!
English and American Traditions
Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.
or
Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Students will learn English and American culture: With every activity, we will follow with a vocabulary lesson and practice conversation about the experience. In the spring, we go on a hike, name the spring flowers, make Valentine cards and heart shaped cookies. In summer we picnic in the Peony Garden, pick strawberries and make a strawberry dessert, and visit the art fair. In fall we visit Plymouth Orchard and compare/contrast different MI apples, collect/analyze fall leaves, and carve pumpkins for Halloween. In winter we sing favorite American Christmas songs; watch popular Christmas movies, listen to the famous "I HAVE A DREAM" speech for Martin Luther King Day, and visit the Toledo Museum of Art.
English Conversation
Tuesday and Thursday
7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
This class will use two texts, A Conversation Book, English in Everyday Life and Speak English Like an American. Students will practice their speaking and listening skills in a variety of engaging ways. Once a month, students will be paired with an American partner for 'English Conversation Night.

Easy English Bible Class
Sunday Mornings at 9:30
Get a simple overview of the Bible with a focus on the life of Christ designed for ESL students and using the Picture Bible.
Free child care available!
Child Care:
Our Tuesday/Thursday morning class offers child care for busy parents at the small additional cost of $7.00 for each child. Children can play in a safe environment right down the hall from our ESL classroom.

Private Lessons
Private lessons give the opportunity for one on one attention at your convenience. Private lessons also allow children and adults to progress more quickly because the instruction can be adapted to the student's specific needs. There are several options to choose from:
- On-Site - Come to the building for your lesson.
- Off-Site - Debi will meet you at an agreed upon location.
- Skype - Available at home and abroad.
Semi-Private Lessons (2 students) are also available on-site.
English for Kids
Private lessons during the summer and after school.
Cost:
All classes are $15 each, payable at the beginning of each month. There will be no refunds for student absences.
Private Lessons are $30/hour on site OR $40/hour at a location of your choice, within 15 minutes of the church or on Skype.
Semi-Private Lessons (2 students) are $40/hour on site.

Additional Information:
New students must either schedule a brief meeting to assess their skill level or provide a writing sample before admission to a class. Once you have registered, Debi will contact you to make arrangements for your skill assessment.
